    2-1/8" RAISED-DECK STEP HEADERS

     

    FEATURES ...

    Designed for:  440 RB-engines, 413-426 Wedge & World Alum block.

    Primary tube size:  2" O.D.

    Secondary tube size:  2-1/8" O.D.

    Collector size:  3.5" with 3.5" 3-bolt flange.

    Flanges:  3/8" thick, laser-cut, contoured for a leak free fit.

    Material:  Constructed of 16 gauge mild steel tubing.  Mandrel bent on sophisticated computer controlled bending machines for precise fit and uninterrupted exhaust flow. The mandrel bending process maintains a constant inside diameter of the tube for a smoother finish with no restriction of flow and no crimping of the tubes.

    Step design:  Provides low-end response and top-end horsepower gain.

    One piece design:  One piece header tubes / No slip tubes.

    Under chassis design:  Above the steering center link design offers maximum header to ground clearance.

    Full length header design:  Proven power gains vs. shorty design.

    Recommended for:  600+ horsepower.

    Torsion bar removal:  Not required.

    Header set includes:  Header gaskets, 12 header bolts, header reducer adapters with 3-bolt gaskets & hardware.

    ~  Our headers were designed to fit with the engines located to the factory specifications.  If the engine is not located correctly in the chassis, the headers will not fit properly.  We strongly suggest you check your engine location prior to installation.

    ~  Due to various manufacturing designs, aftermarket parts, engine configurations, suspension combinations, etc... TTi cannot ensure headers and exhaust systems to fit all combinations.  However, we have done our best to accommodate both factory and aftermarket component combinations.  In some cases, slight modification or repositioning may be required on your part to clear the specific situation.

     

    APPLICATION   Verify headers will fit your application combinations...

    Platform:

    62-74 B-BODY and 70-74 E-BODY CHASSIS.

    [Check your engine location:  See FN39 for the factory dimensions]

    (!) 67-76 A-body:  These headers will not fit A-body applications without extensive modifications.  TTi does not offer services for these types of modifications.  Please read all fitment notes.

    Cylinder heads:

     

    Cylinder head must be stated when ordering.

    Note:  The following cylinder heads...  EDELBROCK VICTOR, PRO COMP, STAGE 6 may be used, however, the passenger-side header will require modification.  TTi can offer to modify the header at an additional cost.  Modification #SP004, fee $50.00  [See FN45 for special order deposit note]

     

    Cylinder Head Studs:  

    Head studs may be used on the Passenger-side, however, the header tubes will not clear the cylinder head studs below the #3, #5 and #7 cylinders on the Drivers-side.  We recommend ARP bolts for clearance in these areas.

    Spark Plugs:

    ANGLED

    STRAIGHT plugsIf your cylinder heads have a straight plug design, headers will require modification to the header tubes to clear straight plugs.  TTi can offer to modify the header at an additional cost.  Modification #SP002, fee $50.00  [See FN43 for special order deposit note]

    Front Suspension:

    STOCK with torsion bars.

    COILOVER without torsion bars:  RMS Alterktion, Magnumforce XRT Tubular or Control Freak IFS.

    (!) 67-76 A-body:  A coilover suspension must be used.  Regardless, these headers will not fit A-body applications without extensive modifications.

    Steering Linkage:

    OEM with torsion bars or Rack & Pinion without torsion bars.

    Note:  Headers will not clear UniSteer Performance Rack and Pinion.  [See FN33 for clearance dimensions]

    Engine Mounts:

    OEM, Schumacher or equivalent.

    Auto Trans:

    YES  

    Note:  Some applications with a floor shifter may require the adjustable swivel & the lower rod to be re-positioned to clear the header collector.  [See FN23 for illustration]

    Note:  Applications with a 3-section throttle rod will require modification to the bell-crank & pivot shaft.  [See FN36 for illustration & modification]

    Standard Trans:

    Keisler Tremec TKO-500/600 Transmissions:  It is imperative that the output-end of the tail shaft is in exactly the same position as the stock transmission output shaft for the headers to fit properly.

    (!) 67-76 A-body:  A modified Z-bar will be required.  Sold separately, Part #ZB307 Regardless, these headers will not fit A-body applications without extensive modifications.

    Flywheel:

    10.5" 130-tooth ring gear.

    11" 143-tooth ring gear must use a RobbMc Performance starter, part #3005.
